She is the grandniece of Augusta Roddis and great-granddaughter of Catherine and Hamilton Roddis, both of whom are key family members as featured in the book. Gillian worked closely with Roddis Collection curator Edward Maeder to bring the garments in the Roddis house alive through photography. She lives in Moss Beach, just south of San Francisco.

DOUG MINDELL

Photographer

Doug is a photographer based in southern Maine. Much of his work involves telling a story with objects and exploring how they relate to each other, often using a fiber optic light that can pinpoint certain areas of a still life, and leave other parts in shadow.

He has spent many years photographing people and creating still life collages for both advertising and editorial clients, including The Boston Globe and The Washington Post, and the publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Doug worked closely with authors Bradbury and Maeder to produce still life images that relate to the people and stories in each chapter of the book. This allows the reader to relive the authors’ discovery of the multitude of garments, accessories, objects, and photos stored in the attic of the Roddis house.
